FUFA Women Elite League: URA Ladies win again, She Kasese secure first victory

URA Ladies FC defeated Buhimba Lady Saints 3–1 to maintain their winning start in the FUFA Women Elite League, while She Kasese WFC secured their first victory with a 3–0 win over Police Women FC.

Kampala, Uganda: URA Ladies FC maintained their perfect start to the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Elite League season after defeating Buhimba Lady Saints FC 3–1 on Matchday Two at Kawempe Muslim Ground.

The victory keeps URA Ladies unbeaten after two matches and strengthens their early push in the Elizabeth Group of the competition.

Belinda Hope Nabawanuka opened the scoring for the hosts before Vanessa Namazzi doubled the advantage from the penalty spot. Rashimy Nakagolo later added a third goal to seal the win and was named Woman of the Match for her performance.

Buhimba Lady Saints pulled one back through Maureen Atugonza, but it was not enough to stop URA Ladies from collecting maximum points.

Elsewhere, She Kasese WFC registered their first victory of the season with an impressive 3–0 win over Police Women FC at Kiira Police Arena.

Peace Muhindo starred in the match with a brace while Beatrice Kasime added another goal to complete the scoring. Muhindo’s outstanding performance earned her the Woman of the Match accolade.

At Maya Playground, UPDF Women FC and Wakiso Hill WFC settled for a 0–0 draw in a tightly contested match. Wakiso Hill were playing their first game of the season after missing the opening round of fixtures.

Both teams created several scoring opportunities but failed to find the breakthrough, with Wakiso Hill’s Namata Teddy earning the Woman of the Match award.

In another fixture played at Prisons Parade Ground, FC Tooro Queens secured a narrow 1–0 victory over PISGBC Queens FC.

Mary Kabaculezi scored the decisive goal and was named Woman of the Match for her match-winning performance.

With the results, URA Ladies remain among the early pacesetters in the league, while She Kasese WFC will take confidence from their first win of the campaign as the competition gathers momentum.
