Kole, Uganda: Wisdom High School Akalo has recorded an outstanding performance in the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations after all 394 candidates who sat the exams posted strong results.
The results released by the Uganda National Examinations Board show that eight candidates scored the maximum 20 points, placing them among the top performers nationally.
The school also recorded 16 candidates with 19 points and 21 candidates with 18 points, reinforcing its growing academic reputation in northern Uganda.
A further breakdown of the results showed that 29 candidates scored 17 points, 52 candidates scored 16 points, 55 candidates scored 15 points, and 61 candidates scored 14 points. 50 candidates scored 13 points, 45 obtained 12 points, 32 scored 11 points, while 25 candidates achieved 10 points.
Education analysts note that the large cluster of students scoring between 14 and 16 points reflects strong and balanced academic performance across the entire candidate cohort.
The Executive Director of the school, Ambrose Ogwal, attributed the performance to consistent academic discipline and mentorship.
“These results show the power of consistency, discipline and teamwork. Our students remained focused throughout their studies, and our teachers guided them with dedication,” Ogwal said. “We are proud that the majority of our candidates scored between 14 and 16 points, which demonstrates strong academic grounding.”

He thanked teachers and parents for supporting the learners throughout their academic journey.
The Head teacher, Martin Ojok, said the success was a result of collaboration between teachers, learners and parents. “Our students were determined to succeed, and they put in the required effort. Teachers worked tirelessly through revision sessions, consultations and continuous assessments,” Ojok said.
He explained that the school closely tracks each learner’s academic progress. “We monitor the performance of every student and provide support where necessary. This ensures no learner is left behind,” he added.
Teacher Daniel Bongo praised the candidates for their commitment and discipline during their A-Level studies. “These students remained focused despite the pressure that comes with A-Level studies. Their willingness to consult teachers regularly contributed greatly to their success,” he said.
Bongo also highlighted the importance of peer learning among students. “They form discussion groups and support one another to understand difficult concepts, which strengthens their preparation for exams,” he said.
The 2025 performance builds on the school’s strong results in 2024, when Wisdom High School–Akalo ranked 22nd nationally and emerged as the top-performing school in Northern Uganda.
School leaders say the latest results reinforce the institution’s ambition to remain among Uganda’s leading academic institutions.
“Our goal is to continue improving and ensure our students compete favourably at the national level,” Ogwal said. “These results give us confidence that we are moving in the right direction.”
