Kampala, Uganda: National Basketball League table contenders Victoria Crocs will face defending champions Namuwongo Blazers in a highly anticipated clash on Sunday at MTN Arena Lugogo.
The Crocs head into the matchup in strong form after winning five of their opening six games this season, emerging as one of the early title contenders in the league.
Victoria Crocs have scored 412 points while conceding 366, giving them a +46 points difference that reflects their balance between offence and defence.
Their only loss came against RezLife Saints, but the Crocs quickly responded with a 61–58 away win against Sommet BC before thrashing UMU Flames 75–57.
The team’s success has been driven by a strong core of players. Forward Chuol Nyout has been dominant on the boards and leads the team in rebounds and overall efficiency, while Mark Ngobi is the Crocs’ top scorer with 93 points so far this season.
Meanwhile, Erick Komagum and Blessed Cerdic Alema continue to provide consistency on both ends of the court, helping the Crocs remain competitive both home and away.
Champions Blazers gaining momentum
The Namuwongo Blazers come into the encounter boosted by a commanding 91–61 victory over UMU Flames.

In that game, Peter Obleng delivered an outstanding performance off the bench, scoring 21 points, including five three-pointers, while adding eight rebounds and three assists.
Nyembo Fataki also contributed 16 points and seven rebounds, while the Blazers’ bench produced 53 points, highlighting the team’s depth.
The champions will be looking to build momentum as the season progresses.
A win over the Crocs could lift the Blazers to seven points in the standings, potentially moving them up to 10th place, while defeat would leave them on five points and risk dropping further down the table.
