Zombo, Uganda: It was a day of mixed fortunes for football fans in Paidha Town as Paidha Black Angels SC secured a crucial victory in the FUFA Big League, while Paidha United SC suffered a narrow defeat away from home in the West Nile Regional League.
At Bar Okoro Stadium, Paidha Black Angels claimed all three points in a tightly contested match against Iganga United FC.
Midfielder David Obedmoth, popularly known as Dante, delivered the decisive moment with a clinical first-half strike that secured a 1–0 victory in front of thousands of enthusiastic supporters.
The win injected fresh momentum into the club’s campaign in the FUFA Big League, keeping the Black Angels firmly in contention for promotion to the Uganda Premier League next season.
Paidha United fall in Terego
Meanwhile, more than 80 kilometres away in Terego District, Paidha United SC endured a difficult afternoon after losing 2–1 to Odramacaku FC at Leju Stadium.
A light drizzle set the stage as hundreds of fans watched the hosts dominate the early exchanges.
Odramacaku opened the scoring through Okuni Ramadhan, who tapped home from a corner kick to give the home side the lead. They doubled their advantage when winger Oj capitalised on a defensive lapse in the Paidha United backline.

Despite the wet conditions forcing cautious play, Odramacaku’s clinical finishing proved decisive.
Paidha United responded in the second half, with striker Rony heading in a cross from the right-back to reduce the deficit and spark hopes of a comeback.
Substitutions added energy to Rwothomio Eddy’s side, which dominated large spells after the break and created several chances.
However, missed opportunities, including a direct shot at the goalkeeper from Rony and a wayward attempt by midfielder Zaza, meant the visitors could not find the equaliser.
The defeat represents a setback for Paidha United, who will soon be without key defender Pogba due to injury.
The team had begun the second leg strongly with a 2–1 win over Kochi Urban FC, a draw against Kuluva Rainbow FC, and a goalless stalemate against Lia City FC last week.
The regional league clash also marked a special moment as centre referee Angufindru Francis officiated his final match after nearly 17 years in refereeing.
Players and officials from both Paidha United and Odramacaku FC acknowledged the referee’s contribution to football in the region.
As Paidha Black Angels celebrate a crucial victory to strengthen their promotion push, Paidha United will now focus on regrouping and addressing squad gaps as the West Nile Regional League second leg continues.
