Arua, Uganda: Police in Arua have arrested a 31-year-old woman after intercepting 100 kilograms of marijuana at the Baby Coach Bus terminal, in a major narcotics bust targeting trafficking along the West Nile–Kampala route.
According to police, the suspect, identified as a saloon operator from Ayivu East Division, was found in possession of the illegal consignment, which had been packed in two sealed boxes and mixed with tobacco leaves in an attempt to evade detection.
Authorities say the suspect was preparing to travel to Kampala, where the drugs were reportedly destined for sale.

The interception highlights evolving smuggling tactics, with traffickers increasingly disguising narcotics within legal goods to bypass routine checks at transport hubs.
The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue to establish the origin of the marijuana and identify possible accomplices in the operation.
Police have also indicated that efforts are underway to dismantle wider drug trafficking networks operating along major transport corridors linking West Nile to the capital.
