KAMPALA, UGANDA: Police in Katwe have arrested three suspects linked to a viral video that went viral last week showing a group of men scaling a perimeter fence and violently assaulting an individual in Makindye Division.
The arrests were made during an intelligence-led operation targeting criminal gangs in the area, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Rachael Kawala.
The suspects have been identified as Sali Ethan, also known as “Unruly,” Sali Isaac, and Sejongo Isaac.
Police said investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to apprehend more individuals believed to be involved in the attack.

“The suspects were arrested during an intelligence-led operation aimed at curbing criminal gangs in Makindye Division,” SP Kawala said.
Authorities revealed that the identity and whereabouts of the victim remain unknown, prompting an appeal to the public.
“We urge the individual seen being assaulted, or anyone with relevant information, to report to the nearest police station to support ongoing investigations,” Kawala added.
“We strongly warn members of the public against engaging in acts of violence and mob justice,” she added, saying further “updates will be provided as investigations progress.”
