Kampala, Uganda: The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has been honoured with an appreciation award at the inaugural Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Suppliers Conference, highlighting its contribution to strengthening Uganda’s business and procurement ecosystem.

The annual conference, organised by UCC, brings together key public and private sector partners, service providers, and regulators to evaluate procurement performance, strengthen compliance, and explore new business opportunities within Uganda’s communications and ICT sector.

This year’s conference, held on 9th April, ran under the theme “Expanding business opportunities through procurement excellence,” focused on improving supplier relationships, enhancing transparency in procurement systems, and promoting local enterprise participation in government contracts.

In a statement issued this Tuesday via its socials, URSB expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that the platform provided an opportunity to deepen collaboration with key stakeholders.

“URSB is honoured to receive an appreciation award at the 2026 Uganda Communications Commission Suppliers Conference. We are grateful to UCC and Absa Uganda, and we remain dedicated to supporting initiatives that strengthen ease of doing business and drive national economic growth,” the statement read.

URSB’s recognition comes amid ongoing efforts to streamline business registration processes, improve corporate governance frameworks, and digitise services to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Platform for collaboration

The UCC Suppliers Conference has increasingly become a strategic forum for aligning government agencies, financial institutions, and private sector actors around procurement best practices.

Partners such as Absa Uganda have continued to support supplier development and financing solutions, enabling businesses to better participate in large-scale contracts.

The conference also serves as a feedback platform where suppliers engage directly with regulators on challenges affecting procurement processes, compliance requirements, and access to opportunities.

URSB reaffirmed its commitment to supporting such collaborative platforms, noting that strong institutional partnerships are key to unlocking sustainable economic growth.
