Kiruhura, Uganda: The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has launched the North Ankole Diocese Five-Year Strategic Plan, describing it as a critical roadmap for strengthening ministry, governance and sustainable development within the diocese.

The strategic plan was unveiled during the Archbishop’s farewell service held on Sunday at Emmanuel Cathedral, Rushere, in Kiruhura District.

Addressing the congregation, Archbishop Kaziimba commended the Bishop of North Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Alfred Muhoozi, for prioritising strategic planning and institutional development, saying the initiative demonstrates visionary leadership.

He noted that the diocesan plan is well aligned with the Church of Uganda’s Provincial Master Strategic Plan, positioning the diocese to effectively deliver on its mission over the next five years.

“The strategic plan reflects deliberate planning and commitment to the future of the Church. I commend Bishop Alfred Muhoozi and the diocesan leadership for embracing this important direction,” Archbishop Kaziimba said.

Earlier in the day, the Archbishop appeared on Kiruhura FM, a radio station owned by Uganda’s High Commissioner to Tanzania, Col. Fred Mwesigye, where he preached a message centred on unity, urging Christians to remain united in faith and purpose.

He later concluded his visit with a tour of Bishop’s Girls School, Rushere, where he was received by the Head Teacher, Rev. Eric Byakatonda, members of the Board of Governors, the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), staff and students.

The visit formed part of Archbishop Kaziimba’s pastoral engagements in North Ankole Diocese as he continues strengthening the Church’s vision of strategic growth, unity and effective ministry across Uganda.
