Kampala, Uganda: Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon Kyeyune Haruna Kasolo Thursday visited the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Kampala to sign the Book of Condolences following the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir of the State of Qatar.
Hon Kasolo conveyed condolences on behalf of the Government and the people of Uganda, expressing solidarity with the Government, the Royal Family and the people of Qatar during their period of national mourning.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Uganda, I conveyed our deepest sympathies to the Government, the Royal Family, and the people of Qatar during this period of national mourning,” Kasolo said.
The Acting Foreign Affairs Minister described the late Father Emir as a visionary leader whose leadership transformed Qatar into a globally respected nation.

“His Highness will be remembered for his visionary leadership, distinguished statesmanship, and immense contribution to Qatar’s remarkable development and global standing.”
Kasolo concluded his message by offering prayers for the late leader and expressing hope that the people of Qatar would find strength and comfort during the mourning period.
Uganda and Qatar maintain cordial bilateral relations, with cooperation spanning labour, trade, investment and diplomatic engagement.
