Kamuli, Uganda: Several students were left nursing critical injuries on Friday evening after a bus carrying learners from Nalango Secondary School belonging to Buzaya Secondary School collided with a sugarcane truck near Busota Health Centre III along the Jinja–Kamuli Road.
The crash resulted in multiple casualties, with many students reportedly sustaining fractures and other serious injuries. Several victims are said to be in critical condition, although authorities had not yet confirmed the exact number of casualties by press time.
The Kamuli District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) rescue team responded to the scene and evacuated the injured to nearby health facilities.
Emergency and medical wards have since received a large number of casualties, with clinical teams working to resuscitate, stabilise and provide emergency treatment to the injured.

The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately clear, and police had not yet released an official statement on the cause of the crash.
