Contentious presidential candidate, John Katumba has blasted Don Wanyama, the President’s Senior Press secretary, Don Wanyama over a statement he made on social media.
Katumba reiterated with fury to a tweet by Don Wanyama, in which he feels he was demeaned.
Wanyama had tweeted, “In this campaign, every candidate is capable of “drawing” crowds, even the affable John Katumba,” a statement that didn’t go down well with the youthful aspirant.
Don Wanyama had however by stating so aimed at various opposition candidates who are holding massive public rallies. He stressed out that these are abnormal times any leader who places the public at health risk just to score quick political points should be called out. He demanded that the EC must demand that guidelines are followed.
Katumba has not been so far away from controversy since he launched his presidential bid, he got a flat tyre on his borrowed van while on his way to the nomination grounds at Kyambogo University in Kampala last week.
A lot of other things followed, including him being rejected for lack of evidence of payment of the Shs20m nomination fees. He was, however, declared a presidential candidate by the Electoral Commission the following day after he cleared the fees, and drama has since followed.
