Former Kabale District Boss Dr. Runumi wins battle against Covid-19, tell his story

KAMPALA – Former Kabale district LC5 chairperson and commissioner in the ministry of health Dr. Francis Mwesigye  Runumi has been discharged from Mulago National Referral Hospital where he has been battling against the endemic COVID-19.

Dr. Runumi was first admitted at Entebbe Grade B Hospital before he was transferred to Mulago for further management about two weeks ago.

While at Mulago, social media became awash with pictures of the former Kabale Municipality Member of parliament aspirant’s nose and mouth connected to an oxygyen cylinder. The picture was reportedly taken by Runumi himself at the Intensive Care Unit of Mulago Hospital.

Since then, rumors have been making rounds on social media that Runumi’s life was in danger, until he broke the silence this morning.

In a facebook article posted on his facebook page, Dr. Runumi declared himself “healed after battling corona”.

In the  facebook post that has so far received hundreds of likes and comments from his friends especially from Kabale District, Runumi ridicules people who are still disputing the reality of the COVID 19. He warns that their time to face the deadly disease is coming.

God has given me a lease of life again. Neera. Today I leave Mulago healed after battling Corona, which some people still take to be a quasi joke. No thanks. It is not a joke. You will be picked, isolated and paralysed as Prof. Nsibambi used to emphasise to stubborn people. Don’t be a statistic in its line of duty. It is dead serious when you start adoring the free oxygen you are breathing right now. You will be alone with that phone as the only window to the dearest.

Most grateful to your support. Prayers, encouraging messages, spiritual references, money, love , kept flowing from all of you. People I had forgotten showed up with love.
I am so heavily indebted to you all.
