JUST IN: NUP’s Bobi Wine Charged for Flouting Covid-19 Guidelines

The National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential candidate Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has been charged by Police for doing an act that is more likely to spread Covid-19, flouting the EC guidelines to combat the spread of the infectious coronavirus.

In a charge sheet shared by his wife Barbra Itungo Kyagulanyi, police alleges that Bobi Wine on Wednesday attempted to address a rally of more than 200 people in Luuka District contrary to Electoral Commission guidelines on the ongoing campaign rallies.

“Hon. Kyagulanyi is still under custody in Nalufenya and below is the charge sheet. Crime committed? Attempting to hold a presidential campaign meeting in a venue where he was scheduled to be,” she said.

“The price of freedom is high but we shall certainly overcome,” Bobi Wine aide said in one of the tweets.
