UPDATED: UPDF Commander in Chief, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has reappointed Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the Commander of the elite Special Forces Command (SFC). President Yoweri Museveni has reappointed First Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba as Commander of Special Forces Command (SFC).
Muhoozi who also serves as the Chief of Defense Forces in the UPDF previously served as SFC Commander before he was appointed as Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations in 2017, a position he has been holding to date.
He now replaces Maj Gen James Birungi who has been commanding the elite force since last year.
In other shuffles made, Brig. Paul Loketch has been appointed to replace Maj Gen Muzeyi Sabiiti as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Gen Birungi has been appointed the New Airforce boss, a position which had been held by the new Deputy IGP Loketch.
Sabiiti has since been sent to the General Headquarters for redeployment.
