Journalists storm out of security meeting, demand apology from UPDF & Police.

KAMPALA: Journalist have stormed out of security meeting with UPDF and Police citing police brutality and attack on the fourth estate.

In a meeting chaired by Chief Political Commissar UPDF, Brig. Henry Matsiko, journalists through a unified force demanded a public apology from the army and police for the continued police brutality and attack on the lives of journalists while executing their work.

“Where is the protection that the UPDF Tahere Sita launched 40 years ago? We request that the RPC of Masaka is arrested.” One journalist pinned Brig, Henry Matsiko.

The development comes at a time when three Journalists, notably Radio One Journalist and Ghetto TV Cameraman Ashraf Kasirye nearly survived death, NBS and NTV journalists Daniel Lutaaya and Ali Mivule were also brutally injured in a scuffle at Masaka on Sunday 27th, December, 2020.
