The Daily Express understands that Former World Boxing Champion (WBC) Joseph Lubega aka ‘Vegas Lubega’ is still missing after reportedly being kidnapped by unknown people on the eve on New Year’s Day.
Joseph Lubega who has won the World Boxing Council International light heavyweight title led a group of boxers in Uganda to join Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine to his National Unity Platform (NUP) party.
The sad news comes about when Uganda is still mourning the gruesome murder of former boxing champion and national bombers team coach Isaac ‘Zebra’ Ssenyange who was shot dead by armed security forces on 30th December 2020.
Another boxing champion Justin Juuko who was also abducted by security for allegedly treachery charges was released from jail together with his aide after spending over 3 weeks in detention.
It’s on 31st December 2020, that the President Museveni confirmed that Zebra Ssenyange aka Mando was killed by Uganda Security forces while addressing the nation in his End of Year Message.
By press time, the National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has yet to react at the whereabouts of his long-term friend Joey Lubega.
