New Poll puts NRM’s Museveni at 64% days to elections

2021 ELECTION WATCH: President Museveni is comfortably ahead of his main political rivals just a day before the national elections, an opinion poll released today shows.

The poll conducted by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) shows that Museveni, the presidential candidate for the party is leading the race to win presidency with 64% alongside his closest rival Robert Kyagulanyi of the National Unity Platform (NUP) at 26.2%.

Other candidates, Patrick Oboi Amuriat – Forum for Democratuc Change (FDC) is in third place at 4.1%, Robert Mao – Democratic Party (DP) has 1.1% and Gen. Mugisha Muntu – Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has 0.7% form the poll results.

Nancy Kalembe in fifth position with 0.6% leads the race among Independent candidates. John Katumba (0.4%), Gen. Tumukunde (0.2%) are other candidates who respondent opted to choose for presidency in the polls.

“The research covered all the 353 constituencies in the country”, a statement issued by NRM Officials noted.

The NRM-Commissioned poll indicates that is leading in almost all districts except Luwero and Kampala where Bobi Wine leads comfrotably.
