Ministry Of Education Opens Up On Purported Full Reopening Of Schools

KAMPALA– The Ministry of Education and sports has dispelled a social media rumor that purported full reopening of all education institutions for all learners.

He in clarification note on official Ministry’s media platforms asserts that “The Ministry of Education and sports has seen a communication on social media from “Newsroom Uganda”.

“It wrongly states that the Ministry of Education and sports has confirmed that schools and universities will open for all students next month” the statement adds.

Muinda calls upon the public to treat the news as fake since their last communication about full reopening of the institutions was contained in the February 9th 2021 letter to all heads of institutions.

“Please note that a detailed calendar indicating the dates for reporting back to schools for all classes was issued on the 9th Feb 2021 to all heads of Education institutions” the statement reads in parts.

“This Position has not changed. This therefore is to to inform the general public that this information is false and should be disregarded and treated as fake news”it added.
