PARLIAMENT | SPEAKERSHIP RACE – Democratic Party(DP) has pledged to support Bukoto Central Elected Member of Parliament Eng. Richard Sebamala for the speakership of the 11th Parliament.
Sebamala who defeated Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi in the recent elections has joined other candidates, including the incumbent Rebecca Kadaga, her deputy Jacob Oulanya and the opposition chief whip, Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda, who are also vying for the same position.
While addressing the press, DP president Nobert Mao on Tuesday said the party will stand by Sebamala ‘by all costs’.
Sebamala said the campaigns had already started and he vowed to reach out to all members irrespective of their political affiliation.
He said he was confident he would win the speakership.
