The Parliament of Uganda on its Thursday sitting has paid tribute to the fallen president of Tanzania John Pombe Magufuli.
The motion to honor the late Magufuli was moved by Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda and supported by the leader of Opposition Ocan Aol.
Rugunda said in the last five years Magufuli achieved global recognition for his vision, ethical standards, and innovative solutions for Tanzania.
While seconding the motion, Aol said the late Magufuli was a great leader who developed Tanzania’s infrastructure like roads, railway, and electricity access.
Magufuli died aged 61 on March 17, from a heart condition and will be laid to rest on Friday March 26, 2021.
