KISORO: Grief and shock engulfed Christians at St. John’s Rurembwe church of Uganda in Kisoro District after a 92-yr-old woman collapsed and died instantly.
The victim identified as Mauda Nyirakaruhije who was a resident of Rukeri village, Gitenderi Parish, Nyarusiza Sub-county in Kisoro District died on Sunday during a church service at around 2:30PM.
The DailyExpress has learnt that the Church was comemorating Mary’s day in a service that was led by Rev Tugume Baker at St John’s Rurembwe church of Uganda.
Speaking to this reporter, Reverend Tugume said that Nyirakaruhije had joined other Christians in thanksgiving but unfortunately fainted on the way back to her seat.
“The church wardens picked her and took her outside the church where she breathed her last” he said.
He hailed the deceased for being a God-fearing Christian and is undoubtedly she will go to heaven.
By press-time, the Police had been contacted for further investigations into the cause of Nyirakaruhije’s death.
