An LDU officer shot dead a student at Metropolitan International University suspected to be a thief after being caught stealing computers at the university campus in Namungoona.
The deceased identified as Ali Matovu, a first-year student doing a Bachelors in Education was shot at the University premises at the Faculty of Education and Humanities office.
The LDU officer who gunned the down claimed the victim was attempting to steal a University computer and in the scuffle, he pulled the trigger putting an end to his life instantly.
The LDU officer has since been arrested.
When reached for a comment on the incident, the Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson, Mr Luke Owoyesigyire, said he had no information about it and referred us to the Army spokesperson, Lt. Col Deo Akiiki.
