Okwi named Uganda Cranes Captain ahead of friendly with South Africa

Uganda Cranes Head coach Abdallah Mubiru has named Emmanuel Okwi the captain of the Uganda Cranes 34 man squad summoned for the International friendly match against South Africa on 10th June 2021.

Okwi who plays for Egyptian side Ittihad Alexandria FC was unveiled as the new Uganda Cranes Captain on Wednesday and will lead the squad when they take on the South Africa national football team.

The Experienced striker has been on the team for more than six years and is one of the highest-scoring players on the national team.

According to information obtained by this reporter, the summoned squad will start residential camp training on Sunday 30th May 2021 at 8 am residing at the Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi.

Training starts on Monday 31s May 2021 at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
