KAYUNGA DISTRICT | HOMICIDE: The newly elected and sworn-in Kayunga District Local Council Five (LC5) Chairperson, Mr. Ffeffeka Sserubogo Muhammad is dead.
According to reports coming from Kayunga, Ssseubogo of the National Unity Platform reportedly hang himself today morning at around 6 am behind his house.
Hellen Kyomuhendo, the acting District Police Commander Mukono, confirmed Sserubugo’s death saying his body was found hanging on a tree on a cold Wednesday morning by his relatives.
Eye witness from the deceased’s home village, Kyebanja A in Busaale Parish, in Kayunga Subcounty were left in shock after learning about the death of their distric chairman who was barely a month in office after swearing in.
The reason as to why he committed suicide is yet to be known as some claim that the newly elected chairman even held a district council meeting yesterday, Tuesday, June 15.
Ffeffeka Sserubogo was last month sworn in as the new District Chairperson replacing Mr Tom Sserwanga.
He contested on the National Unity Platform-NUP party ticket in the district LC5 elections and defeated NRM’s Andrew Muwonge, Thomas Muwanga, Boniface Musisi, Fred Ssemyalo, Patrick SSempijja and Dan Wabomba all Independent.
