RUBIRIZI DISTRICT: Mr. Steven Monday, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for Rubirizi District has succumbed to COVID-19. Monday breathed his last on Tuesday morning at Rugazi Health Centre IV before he was transferred to Kampala International University Hospital for further treatment.
Rubisirizi district sources also revealed to this website that the Deputy CAO, Ronald Ahimbisibwe is in critical condition battling the COVID-19 disease.
Monday is the second District CAO to succumb to the deadly covid-19 within a space of two days after his Kapchorwa CAO Mr. Simon Peter Kandole who died on Monday from the same illness.
Their death comes at a time when the country is battling the second wave of COVID-19 outbreak with a cumulative of 76,089 cases, 51,860 and 956 fatalities.
Additionally, the country has 1,211 active cases admitted in different health units with 854,232 people already vaccinated with AstraZeneca COVID-19 doses.
