RAMAPHOSA: South Africa civil unrest planned and coordinated

South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa

Johannesburg, South Africa | Xinhua | The civil unrest characterized by looting and burning of property was planned and coordinated, President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Friday during his visit to KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

“Our intelligence services and our police have now got a line of sight of what was actually happening here with the instigation and the coordination and planning. And we are after those people,” he said when speaking to the media in Durban, the worst affected city by the violence.

Ramaphosa said those behind the events had been identified.

“We have identified a good number of them. We will not allow anarchy and mayhem to unfold in our country, so much damage has been done to the country,” he said.

He bemoaned the loss of life.
