Two Ugandan Truck Drivers shot dead in South Sudan

Two Ugandan truck drivers have been shot dead by unknown assailants in Juba, South Sudan, the Daily Express has learned.

According to Aswar Region Police officer Daving Ongom, the two assailants, dressed in South Sudanese military attire attacked and shot the drivers dead at a roadblock along the Juba Nimule Road in Jubek County, Central Equatorial State in South Sudan.

The particulars and of the deceased truck drivers and their vehicle number plates are yet to be established

Ongom confirmed this incident saying that the bodies of the deceased were taken to Juba hospital for Post-mortem.

He added that the same assailants also ambushed one Genza Godfrey, 29, a resident of Matugga in Wakiso district while driving a Fuso fighter truck, Reg.No UBE 668K and he was injured in the leg.

He was later rushed to Aruu Junction where he received first aid at a clinic

The police spokesperson advised Road users to be extra careful on the Nimule-Juba road is still not safe for travellers.
