KAMPALA: The 2020 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examination results will be released today, Friday July 30.
The The Education Minister, Ms Janet Museveni will officiate the function of the results release at State House Nakasero.
Yesterday, the Public Relation Officer of Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB), Ms Jenipher Kalule said they the examinations body had successfully briefed Ms Museveni about the performance of Senior Four students during Wednesday’s meeting and confirmed the release of the results is set for today (Friday).
Ms Kalule said the UCE results will be released scientifically with a few officials attending physically, as it was with the PLE Results released two weeks ago.
Ms Kalule warned parents and heads of schools against gathering crowds at schools and homes in the guise if of celebrating good grades.
UNEB statistics show that a total of 333,889 candidates registered for 2020 UCE examinations across the 3,935 centres countrywide.
By gender distribution, 49.8% of the candidates were male, while 50.1% female.
Mr James Turyatemba, th examinations manager at UNEB has said in case results of schools have been withheld due to suspected examination malpractice, the body will notify the affected schools in writing as well as district examination officials.
He added that the affected schools are invited to appear before the relevant committees of the board to be accorded a fair hearing.
