Enanga speaks out on the cause of Lokech’s death
“We want to use this opportunity that the post-mortem that was carried out by a team of four pathologists one of them Maj. Kasasira Steven the director health services of the UPDF, personal doctor of the late identified as Dr Ben Kinge and two family representatives selected by the family of the deceased.
“The team of pathologists established that the victim had a fracture of the right ankle joint around the end of July. It was a simple fracture which was being managed at Rubby medical centre by orthopaedic surgeons and continued to manage him as an out patient and he was going for regular treatment. They encouraged him to continue mild exercises while at home and it was about 2 to 3 days a go that the late started feeling pain in the right ankle and he notified his orthopaedic surgeon at Ruby medical centre who scheduled an appointment on 21st August, 2021 between 8am and 9am.
“It is unfortunate that on that very day, the victim called the surgeon at 7:54am and as he was organising himself, the victim started facing breathing problems and again called his personal doctor Dr. Kinge who rushed and found the victim breathing his last and actually died in his presence,”
“During the autopsy, the pathologists opened the injured leg and found a very big blood clot that had formed in one of the blood vessels. They proceeded with the autopsy and further opened the chest where they found part of the big clot that was carried into the lungs. It is this big blood clot that was carried into the lungs that managed to block the vessels in both lungs leading to shortage in breath and subsequent death. It was thus concluded that it was death arising from natural causes,” Enanga added.
