ENTEBBE, UGANDA: Uganda’s leading horticulture firm, Premier Roses Ltd has given out 1500 more mattresses as it continues its long-serving employees for their tireless hard work and helping them through the COVID-19 stress.
The 15,000 mattresses were handed over to the workers by City Tycoon Rajiv Ruparelia, the Managing Director of the Ruparelia Group accompanies by the LC5 Chairman Wakiso District Matia Lwanga Bwanika at the company’s farmland in Namulanda, Entebbe.
This is the second time the company is distributing mattresses after they recently donated 2000 mattresses to the vulnerable communities in the vicinity of Premier Roses.
Premier Roses Ltd, a flagship company of Ruparelia Group of companies owned and managed by Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia is currently Uganda’s largest exporter of Sweetheart cut boasting of 100% Hydroponics system supported by a fully automatic centralized irrigation system.
With its farm based in Entebbe, Premier Roses Ltd is the largest exporter of flowers in Uganda and commands around 40% of all the country’s raised exports under its objective of achieving the highest standards of Good Agricultural Produce (GAP), environmental conservation, reduced use of agrochemicals and improved efficiency in the use of natural resources.
The company also focuses on conserving existing habitats and ensuring continual responsibility with regard to the health, safety, and welfare of its employees.
The company’s greenhouses are irrigated by a modern, automated water-pumping unit, which feeds the fully computerized hydroponics systems.
Premier Roses Ltd produces the following categories of roses: Sweetheart Roses; Valentino (dark red), Viva (bright yellow), Chelsea (orange), Red Calypso (bright red), Meera (champagne), Akito (white).
Others are; Blushing Akito (pink), Raspberry King (dark red), Jambo (bright red), and Intermediate Roses; Ace Pink (pink), Bella Rose (pink), Sunny Star (yellow), Furiosa (dark red), Tropical Amazone (orange), Banjo (pink), Labelle (peach), Soraya (yellow), Athena (white).
