If not Prophet Elvis Mbonye, who else are you consulting?

OP-ED: ‘Why is the church where it is right now, and why is the nation of Uganda in such jeopardy?’, you may ask. Well, the reason is simple. 2 Chronicles 20:20.

2 Chronicles 20:20 (King James Version) And they rose early in the morning and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

This is not a mere scripture that was put in the Bible to puff up a Prophet or his office. It is because God knew exactly what He was doing when He said so.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (King James Version) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

A nation should never have a deficit budget when it has a Prophet of God (also known as a ‘Seer’ in ancient times). Such gifts in form of men are given by God to aid humanity and bless a nation. However, it is up to the leaders (in this case politicians) to do as the occasion demands or continue to frustrate their people.

The prosperity of a nation is tied to a prophetic anointing. Prosperity is one of the major facets of the prophetic anointing (as some would prefer to call the Spirit upon the man), and this can be traced through the scriptures.

An authentic Prophet of God always carries the facet of prosperity and is in most cases persecuted for his wealth (just like Prophet Elvis Mbonye was and still is). The people who persecute the wealthy should instead investigate themselves to find out why they are poor. Looking at my motherland, Uganda, there are only a handful of people experiencing what one would term as ‘TRUE PROSPERITY’. The majority of the people are working so that they may but only have a day’s meal and this number increased especially during these two years of induced lockdown.

Examine: Is lockdown the godly way of handling this situation of the (perceived) pandemic? Of course not! From what we can see, it has done more harm than good.  There is a spike of teenage pregnancies, erosion of normal social human interaction, inflation, loss of jobs, children’s mental retardation, et cetera.

I reminisce those days when children and teenagers would go to churches just because dancers and various artists were coming. They would choose this option over a discotheque. At least they were being preached to through entertainment in the churches. I now wonder what has become of such teenagers in these two years where there was no gathering at places of worship. What can the spiritual leaders do except watch and pray?

The temples of God (people’s bodies) are no longer serving Him but going about making and thinking of how to survive in this condition. The world has frost-bitten their hearts.

If Uganda was handling what we call a pandemic the Godly way, wouldn’t the nation be doing much better than it is? How do you say you fear God when His places of worship are closed and places of making money (like arcades) are open? That simply indicates that you no longer worship God but now worship money. It is that simple.

Where is the people’s hope? Is it in money and science? It is more disheartening to learn that people are now feeling like they can do without God and without meeting as brethren to worship Him.

Question to a human being: Are you the one who created science? If not, then handle situations the godly way. Otherwise, it will not end well.

The government of Uganda should always consult with the Prophet of God. If they don’t, they will (knowingly) consult the prophets of the devil. It is very clear that you either worship God or you do not. If you as a government of the nation are not consulting with an authentic Prophet of God (Prophet Elvis Mbonye), then we know whose prophets you are consulting.

As for the church and all the spiritual leaders, this is the time for you to show forth your strength in the Lord. Know that you are the Lord’s battle axe and the battle lines have been drawn. Use whatever God has given you in all your capacity to fight for this cause of opening the places of worship. God bless you all.
