HOIMA, UGANDA: Residents of Kyabigambire Sub-county in Hoima District are leaving in great after the unknown people suspected to be Kiijambiya men threw warning letters including names of people who are on the wanted list.
Speaking to DailyExpress, Alex Mwesigwa the Kyabigambire Sub-county chairperson said the threatening letters were flipped in the area on Friday 31st December 2021 where over 23 residents were included on the list with the subcounty chairperson leading the list.
It is alleged that these letters were flipped in the villages of Kisabagwa, Bugandale, Bineneza, and Nyakabingo all in Kyabigambire Sub-county.
Mwesigwa is now calling upon residents to follow the guidelines set by the district security committee so as to enable security personnel to do their work.
“Follow the guidelines of the RDC, stop walking at night, make sure at least by 8 pm everybody is at home to help security team to carry out night patrols and am thankful to the RDC and the Hoima District security committee for the mass sensitization”. Mwesigwa said.
Moses Muzoora the Kyabigambire Sub-county councilor for Kisabagwa Parish says he is number two on the list for the people who are wanted by the Kijambiya men but warned residents to avoid such acts.
“On Friday morning we were shocked to see warning letters flipped in various places in Kyabigambire Sub-county where I appeared as number two on the wanted list, but people in this act are yet to be identified so am calling upon all residents to be security conscious and coordinate with the security team so as to identify these thugs”. Muzoora said.
Meanwhile, Yosam Tumwebaze the Hoima Resident District Commissioner said they have already deployed security personnel in the area to carry out investigations.
“We shall not allow the Masaka killings to happen here in Hoima, so our security team have been deployed to carry out investigations and also arrest suspects may be convicted”. Said the Hoima RDC.
