BUKEDEA, UGANDA; The Bukedea Resident District Commissioner Mr. Okiswa Geoffrey has with generosity, joined millions of Iteso and other Ugandans in mourning the late Emorimor Papa Osuban.
The RDC contributed Shs 100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Shillings) towards the burial arrangements of the fallen prolific Iteso cultural leader.
Mr. Okiswa has also promised to attend the burial ceremony slated for this week on Saturday, February 19, 2022.
Papa Osuban, a cultural leader of Teso was pronounced dead on the 5th of February 2022 at Mulago National hospital Kampala. The cause of his death has been connected to heart failure.
Since then, burial arrangements started with President Museveni declaring that the Emorimori be accorded State burial.
The president also contacted his counterpart of the Kenyan side, His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta to allow Emorimori’s body be crossed to Kenya where a section of Iteso live to eulogize their leader.
