KAMPALA, UGANDA: Pastor Wilson Bugembe, the lead pastor at Worship House church in Nansana, Kampala has finally opened up on reports of his rumoured wedding making rounds on social media.

Internet earlier this week went bizarre after photos of a wedding invitation card rumoured to be of Pastor Bugembe leaked to social media indicating that the long-awaited event is set to take place this year on June 3rd.

The weeding card read this; “The family of late Mr. Drake Kirabira of Gulama Village Masaka District invites Joseph Seguya to their’s wedding ceremony of PS. Wilson Bugembe scheduled for Friday, June 03  2022 at Worship House – Nasana at 12 pm and thereafter the reception at Hotel Africana.”

However, responding to the wedding reports that have spread like wild-fire, Pastor Bugembe dismissed the allegations saying he is not planning any wedding, let alone meeting the right woman to tie the knot with.

“I am not organizing any wedding and I haven’t sent any wedding invitation cards,” Bugembe was quoted as telling a local gossip blog, before adding; “I know Ugandans want me to marry but I will take my time and God will send me someone.”

Contrary to the wedding saga, other reports claimed that the rumours are being used as a marketing gimmick ahead of Bugembe’s planned concert on Martyrs’ Day that will be at Hotel Africana.

“Pastor Wilson Bugembe has distanced himself from the said wedding. He revealed that he will be having a concert on the 3rd of June which will be Martyr’s day,” Sanyuka TV’s Gossip King Kaiyz claimed.
“This was simply a marketing strategy but nothing big about it,” he added.
