Body of missing boy retreived from septic tank

According to ASP Owoyesigyire, Bukenya who went missing on July 9 was on Tuesday evening seen floating in the septic tank at the home of one Eria Semaganyi.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: The territorial police in Nansana, Wakiso District have arrested two suspects over the alleged murder of a nine-year-old, Imran Bukenya whose body was found submerged in a septic tank.

The suspects have been identified as Ssemaganyi Eria and Ssalongo Bweseri both residents of Nansana, in Wakiso district.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Bukenya who went missing on July 9, 2022, was on Tuesday evening seen floating in the septic tank at the home of one Eria Semaganyi.

“The police have been searching for the child until yesterday when police at Wamala received information that an unidentified body was seen floating in the septic tank at the home of Semaganyi Eria,” said Owoyesigyire.

“Police officers responded and retrieved the body which was in a decomposing state. They also recovered a 20-liter jerrican of Kerosene which had been dumped into the septic tank to disguise the smell of the decomposing body,” he added.

The body of the child was later identified by his mother who told the police officers that the boy went missing on July 9 while she was in Mulago Hospital to give birth.

He concluded that the suspects are currently detained at Nansana Police Station to help with investigations while the body of the boy has been taken to the City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem.
