LIST: Museveni promotes 469 UPDF officers, confirms 28 ranks

This is the third time this year that President Museveni, who is also the Commander in Chief of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, is promoting officers.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: President Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the armed forces has promoted a total of 469 UPDF officers and confirmed 28 Senior and Junior officer ranks in the national army.

The latest promotions were confirmed by UPDF spokesperson, Brig Felix Kulayigye in a press statement dated Tuesday, August, 2022.

“The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and UPDF fraternity congratulate the Senior and Junior Officers upon their well-deserved promotions and confirmed ranks,” said army spokesperson, Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye, while announcing the promotions on Thursday morning.

The officers who have been promoted include; Col.David Tweheyo to Brig Gen, Col.Silver Changa Muhwezi to Brig.Gen, Lt.Col.Tom Musoke Buwembo to Colonel, Lt.ColRobert Nabimanya Katanaka to Colonel, Lt.Col.Samson Henry Nabeeta to Colonel, Lt.Col.Christopher Kyanku to Colonel, LT.Col.Giradier Roger Owor to Colonel, Lt.Col.Samuel Alex Wabuyi to Colonel among others.

Other officers include, Sylvia Meeme to Colonel, Lt.Col.Ronald Kagyenyi to Colonel, Lt.Col.Moses Wilson Ssentongo to Colonel, Lt. Col. Godfrey K. Tukamwakira to Colonel, Ronald Wairindi Mugisha to Colonel, Lt.Col.Betty Musuya Wanyera to Colonel, Lt.Col.Edmond Ruta Agaba to Colonel, Maj. Dr.Jenniffer Alanyo to Lt.Col.

Others include; Acting Col. David. M. Byaruhanga to Colonel, Acting Col.Martin S Byegarazo to Colonel, Acting Col. Vincent Odari Omollo to Colonel, Acting Col. Chris Sseruyange Ddamulira to Colonel, Acting Col. Daniel Kalala Kirya to Lt.Col among others.

This is the third time this year that President Museveni, who is also the Commander in Chief of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, is promoting officers.

The first promotions were announced in January and the next group was in April.

In July this year, the president also promoted 76 top UPDF officers, and this new promotion has seen over 460 officers also get their ranks raised to higher levels.
