Why Nyakasura School suspended all S.4 candidates just days to UNEB

In his October 5th, 2022 letter to parents of all senior four candidates, the school head teacher, Rev Richardson Alinda, says that in consultation with other stakeholders the administration decided that all S.4 students immediately leave school.

FORT PORTAL, UGANDA: Nyakasura School in Fort Portal, Western Uganda Wednesday ordered all senior four candidates to vacate the school premises with just days left to sit for their final exams.

According to the school Head Teacher, Rev Richardson Alinda, the decision to suspend all the candidates was arrived at in consultation with the key stakeholders and the school administration to have the students dismissed over alleged indiscipline and causing confusion.

In the letter of suspension dated October 5th, 2022 addressed to parents of all the suspended candidates, the head teacher without clarifying the matter noted that students have for long been indisciplined and caused confusion in the school on the night of October 4, 2022.

He, therefore, tasked the students to disclose the ring leaders of the incident before October 10 warning that those who fail to name at least one ring leader may find it difficult to be readmitted to sit for their UNEB Papers.

The letter further indicates that the parents are expected to report to the school on October 10 for a meeting together with their children.

Sources privy to the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity disclosed to this website that the decision to suspend the students came after some Senior four students assaulted the security guard on Tuesday night.

According to the source, the security guard caught some students with a mobile phone planning to escape from the school premises at night and he confiscated the phone.

This, however, didn’t go down well with the students who mobilized their classmates and assaulted the guard and recovered the mobile phone.

This incident raised commotion and confusion in the entire school.

It should be noted that students are expected to sit their final Uganda Certificate of Education examinations this month with the briefing set to kickoff on next Friday, October 14, 2022.

Nyakasura school was founded by Scotsman Ernest Ebohard Calwell, a retired naval officer, in 1926.
