Bodaboda rider killed in accident along Kabale-Mbarara highway

According to the Kigezi Region police spokesperson Mr Elly Maate, the accident involved motor vehicle registration No. UBL 340N Isuzu Elf truck and motorcycle registration number UEW 173D.

KIGEZI REGION, UGANDA: A bodaboda rider in Kigezi region has died on the spot following a fatal accident recorded on Wednesday evening along the Kabale-Mbarara highway.

The deceased identified as Innocent Owomugisha was a resident of Nyakijumba sub-county in Kabale district, western Uganda.

According to the Kigezi Region police spokesperson Mr Elly Maate, the accident involved motor vehicle registration No. UBL 340N Isuzu Elf truck and motorcycle registration number UEW 173D.

Matte said the accident happened at about 8:30 pm at the bridge after Butobere junction, adding that the cause of the accident has not yet been established as police detectives were still investigating the matter.

He further noted that the motor vehicle and motorcycle were towed and parked at Central Police Station yard Kabale, pending inspection by the Inspectorate of Vehicles.
