Sudhir inducted as Full Honorary Member of Kiwatule Rotary Club

Shortly after his induction into the Rotary Club of Kiwatule, Sudhir revealed that for 20 years, various rotary club presidents have urged him to join the club but it was all in vain.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: The Rotary Club of Kiwatule in Nakawa division has welcomed Ruparelia Group Chairman, Mr. Sudhir Ruparelia as it’s Full Honorary Member after joining the rotaract club this week.

Sudhi, widely known for his charity cause and philanthropic activities was on Wednesday October 12, inducted as Rotarian by the Rotary Club District Governor Mr Sebalu Mike during the Clubs’ fellowship held at the Kabira Country Club.

“Welcome to the Great Mighty Club of Kiwatule! To the Family of Rotary and Friends of Rotary. We would like to Introduce to you Mr. Sudhir Ruparelia as a Full Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Kiwatule. Congratulations Mr. Sudhir,” he said.

Shortly after Sudhir’s induction into the Rotary Club of Kiwatule, he revealed that for 20 years, various rotary club presidents have urged him to join the club but it was all in vain.

“Money doesn’t matter a lot, but what really matters is the time Rotarians find to cater to the poor,” Sudhir said.

He donated sh15m to the Rotary Club of Kiwatule and pledged to continue supporting the Rotary.

Dr. Sudhir, a leading philanthropist in Uganda through his Ruparelia Foundation which is the charity arm of the Ruparelia Group of Companies has for years extended a helping hand to individuals and entities by donating billions of shillings to aid several causes in fields of business, education, health, entertainment and conservation.

Rotary Clubs in Uganda have immensely profited from Sudhir’s charitable works, most especially his educational scholarships to learners, and thus developed a conviction to incorporate him fully into their fraternity.

In July this year Sudhir donated a whopping 10M to the Cancer ward at Nsambya hospital and another 10 to the cancer maternity award of Nsangi

Sudhir has often applauded the work exhibited by the rotary club of Nsangi which is recommended for tirelessly working to change citizens lives

The Honorary membership is recognizes people who have distinguished themselves with extra ordinary services and contributions to society, it should also be noted that Honorary members are exempted from paying any dues and are entitled to attend all meetings among other previledges.

The main goal of Rotary is to promote peace, fight diseases, and provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene. They also save mothers and children, support education and grow local economies.
