Pretty Nicole tormentor Kafta Queen jailed 3 years

Kafta, a Tanzanian national and student at Trinity College Nabweru in Wakiso Municipality was arrested on June 10, 2023, a few days after a video recording, which showed them torturing the teenage girl, went viral on social media.

WAKISO, UGANDA: The Kira Division Chief Magistrate Ms Roseline Nsenge has sentenced 18-year-old Kafta Queen to three years in jail after she pleaded guilty to inflicting aggravated torture on a 15-year-old Pretty Nicole she accused of falling in love with her boyfriend.

Kafta, a Tanzanian national and student at Trinity College Nabweru in Wakiso Municipality was arrested on June 10, 2023, a few days after a video recording, which showed them torturing the teenage girl, went viral on social media.

According to prosecution charge sheet; Kaftah and others still at large on January 8, 2023, in Nsasa Kira Municipality in Wakiso District inflicted injuries on Pretty Nicole causing her grievous harm on accusations that she fell in love with her (Kaftah) boyfriend, Lwanga.

She was remanded to Luzira prison until January 31, 2023, (yesterday) when she appeared before the Chief Magistrate’s court and slapped with the court sentence.

Magistrate Nsenge while sentencing her said that Kaftah being only 18 years old, has been remorseful and is still a student, but it is the duty of the court to teach the public that such actions are not allowed in society.

“I hereby sentence Kaftah Queen to three years in prison. The punishment should deter other children from getting involved in such acts,” she ruled.
