GULU, UGANDA: The Police in Gulu district are holding a 37-year-old father over the alleged murder of his daughter’s boyfriend whom he caught red-handed in a sexual act last week.

The suspect is Cheyi Ben Angol, a resident of Apem village, Omel sub-county in Gulu district, while the deceased is Okema Daniel, aged 16.

According to police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the suspect is said to have mobilised his accomplices and stormed the boy’s home after learning that his daughter had sneaked out of his house on Friday night.

“The facts gathered indicate that after the suspect learnt that his daughter had sneaked out of the house at night, he mobilised his accomplices who included Rubangakene, Mugisha, Odongo Daniel, Komakech Daniel and Nasur Bwambale, with whom they stormed the home of the suspect. They recovered their daughter and brutally tortured the 16year boyfriend to death,” Enanga said in a police statement.

“They allegedly recovered the girl, brutally tortured her 16-year-old boyfriend to death, and thereafter hanged his body to fake a suicide. It is said that the group later locked the house from the outside.”
