IGANGA, UGANDA: The Chairman Uganda Muslim Supreme Council(UMSC), Prof Dr Muhammad Lubega Kisambira has condemned the act of homosexuality, especially in schools saying that it’s not normal for humans to divert from God’s nature yet even animals and birds can’t take the ungodly lane.

Dr Lubega, who doubles as the director of Lubega Institute of Nursing and Medical Sciences (LINMS) and first deputy premier of Busoga Kingdom was on Monday speaking to LINMS students at a thanksgiving ceremony after the good performance in the just released exams of Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board(UNMEB). The function was organized at the school headquarters in Buseyi, along Iganga-Tororo highway.

“God created man and from man, He created a woman, He would have created a man from a man. He created Adam and the helper(Eve) and for someone to come up in this century at our level of civilization, in this world of modernization and set a trend that a man and a man are okay, then the person is stupid because it’s not okay. Ask the cow, bull, goat, rat, sheep, birds, butterfly, and all males will look for females,” Dr Lubega said before appealing to students to distance themselves from LGBTQ practices since they have entered schools.

“They have a lot of money and they can get one or two of you and give you money and start showing you that the entry and exit are the same. Please report anyone rumoured to involve in this practice and we shall sack them and it can never happen in front of us, please also go and talk to your small brothers and sisters because in primary and secondary, the practices are there,” he added saying that talking about sexuality is not criminal and children need to know that when they grow up, they should admire people of opposite sex.

The director however commended Allah for the good performance saying that one receives after asking from Allah and when he appreciates, Allah gives him all. Dr Lubega appealed to students to use their season and read for the reason and shouldn’t experiment with their lives.

“You came to read and please read because you’re here for a season and a reason, don’t go beyond that season. You have one life to live, don’t experiment with it, God can give you so many chances on many things on earth but He will never give you another life to live on earth and those who have messed up and experimented on their lives are not here,” Dr Lubega appealed.

Director Lubega, Principal Hanaba Benard and academic registrar Ms Kabene Mercy

The principal of the institute Hanaba Benard says that the UNMEB exams which were released on February 24, saw the nurses and midwives from the institute flourish with a 99 percent pass out of the students who sat the examinations.

“We had a total number of 1,159 candidates and only 59 got retakes in only one paper and it’s why we had 99 percent pass. We were number one in eastern region and we had 300 students in their final year and only 2 didn’t make it meaning that the remaining students passed well, giving us the 99% pass,” says Mr Hanaba.

Meanwhile, the academic registrar of Lubega Institute of Nursing and Medical Sciences, Ms Kabene Mercy Jackline presented the best students in each set to the director, who in turn awarded them with 100k envelopes each and 2 bulls to other students for outstanding performance in UNMEB exams.
