Minister Ogwang supports Katakwi vendors with three million shillings

The State Minister for Education (Sports) Mr Peter Ogwang gave the women Association three million shillings.

KATAKWI, UGANDA: It was all joy and appiness on the faces of Ocorimongin women in Katakwi District after the the State Minister for Education (Sports) Mr Peter Ogwang extended support worth three million shillings to their Daily Market Association.

This was at a colourful event that took place on Wednesday, April 26, with the Minister presiding over the Chief Guest.

Ms Catherine Olokotum the Association chairperson said that, their Association has membership of thirty of which all are women who are trading within Ocorimongin Town board.

Ms Olokotum added that the support that has come in time from the minister will help boost the capital of their businesses.

We personally requested for the support and has come, meaning the minister is a trustworthy leader whom we promise to keep in power as our leader for over the next fifteen years and more.

Meanwhile, Grace Asio, an Association member confirmed that, most of them have capital of less than 100,000 mostly Revolving in grinded groundnuts,pealed cabbages, tomatoes, greens among other vegetable items in the order to kick poverty out of their families.

Ms Asio added that, most members of the association go for debts to boost their capital.

Mr Charles Atoro, who represented minister at the ceremony thanked the women for coming up with association meant to kick poverty out of their homesteads.

Atoro added that, the minister is on a higher gear to support his electorates in fighting poverty by supporting them in different ways.

Ogele Gabriel Abuderi, LC1 Angopet cell noted that, its the start of the support to the association, much more is coming.

He advised the members to still keep together in their Association and help each other fight poverty through supporting each other.

Emma onong coordinator for katakwi Town Council urged the members to always keep the name of the minister high since no leader has ever supported them in such a manner in Ngariam and katakwi in general.

Olokotum however, handed over a huge turkey to Charles Atoro who represented minister Ogwang, this happened after they blessed the monies.
