LIRA, UGANDA: The leadership of Original MK Army, a movement for the support of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba in the Lango Sub-region has dispelled rumours that the former Land Forces Commander is soon visiting the region in his ongoing countrywide tours.

During a press briefing held on Friday 28th April 2023 at Garden Inn Hotel In Lira City, the group led by Mr Patrick Akena the spokesperson of the Original MK Army Lango sub-region, Ebong Maxwell the chairperson, Mr Odongo, the head of mobilisation, Peter Okello Oyoo, the treasurer, Ogwal Tom, the head of entrepreneurs and Martin Odur the Ghetto representative strongly denied rumours going on that Gen. Muhoozi Kanerugabawill be visiting Lango next week is NOT true.

According To Mr Akena, they are not aware of the coming of Gen.Muhoozi Kainerugaba in the Lango region and therefore cannot confirm his visit.

“As of now, Gen Muhoozi is not coming to Lango but we are talking to him to get a day and come to address several issues including the issue of the constant raid of cattle commonly noted in Otuke and Alebtong District among other issues in the Lango sub-region,” said Akena.

“We want to inform the general public and the media that we have a number of MK Movement [almost six]like the Avenger, Revolutionary Army, Team Chairman, MK Army, and Original Mk Army among others, therefore as Original Mk Army Lango we are not aware of his visit in Lango and thus such information is not true,” added Akena.

The leaders, particularly those of the Original Muhoozi Kainerugaba Army in the Lango sub-region, are urging H.E Gen Yoweri Museveni Kaguta to retire Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba from active leadership in the force/UPDF so as to allow him to move freely and interact with the public on his political ambitions.

According to Spokesperson Akena, retiring General Kainerugaba from the UPDF will allow him to share his political ambitions with Ugandans freely.

Mr Ebong Walter Maxwell, the coordinator/chairperson of the Original Muhoozi Army in the Lango Sub-region, told the media that there are masqueraders who are trying to mobilize for Muhoozi in Lango but they don’t even subscribe to any category of Muhoozi’s Team that the public should know them.

In another development, Ebong said the people of Uganda are demanding that Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba should be relieved of his duty in the UPDF so that he is free to move in public and talk to the people about his 2026 bid to contest in the presidential elections.

I would like our people to know that the Original Muhoozi Army is there to defend the ideology of NRM and fight corruption.

Mr Patrick Odongo-Lango who heads mobilization in the team said they have so far registered 800 people in the Lango sub-region in their database and above all they have registered 60-foot soldiers per village and 8.9 million people country wide.

Odongo Lango said the original Mk Army is more than prepared so that in 2026 Muhoozi wins the presidential elections.

He said they are soon registering their foot soldiers at Otuke, Lira City West, Lira district and Amolatar District.

Mr Peter Okello Oyoo the treasurer to the team Assured the media that they are self-funded and their financial mobilization is done voluntarily by well-wishers and willing members but not From Gen Muhoozi.

There was however speculation going on that Gen Muhoozi was scheduled to visit the Lango Subregion next week.

This assurance from Team Original MK Army of Gen Kaneirugaba, Lango Sub-region, therefore, rules out completely any speculation that was circulating whatsoever to the general public about any of his visits in the Lango Sub-region.
