LIRA, UGANDA: The Presidential Advisor for Lango Zone, Mr Sam Engola has been appointed the Patron of the MK Movement in the Lango Sub-Region, DailyExpress understands.
Mr Engola had accompanied Dr Balaam Barugahare Ateenyi to launch the MK Movement chapter in Lango Sub-region at Lira Mayor’s garden today (Monday 1st May 2023) when he was assigned the new role.
Balaam while addressing the media at Lira Hotel said they have commissioned their structure and set the foundation for all the villages in Lango Sub-region for the ten districts. He urged Hon Omara Atubo, Hon. Cecilia Ogwal Atim (Dokolo Woman MP), Hon Okot Ogong and Mr Ben Wacha to head the council of elders in Lango for the MK Movement team.
Sam Engola on behalf of the people of Lango, welcomed the MK Movement to Lango and said President Milton Obote came into leadership at the age of 35 only and in 1962 when Adoko Nekyon became a minister he was just 28 years only and said he was selected as patron for the MK Movement not because of anything but because of the need to bring peace.
Ojok Oyite Isaac, the MK Movement coordinator for the Lango sub-region at the national level, said the launch of the movement cleared doubt that the team does not exist in Lango.
There were however a few T-shirts distributed on Monday at Lira as several coordinators attended the launch without T-shirts.
There are now two known teams of Gen. Muhoozi Kanerugaba in Lango with the popular team known as Original MK Army headed by Akena Rolex Patrick, Ebong Walter, and Odongo Lango among others.
Recently addressing the media at Garden Inn, Team Original MK Army disowned information circulating in the public that Gen Muhoozi was visiting the Lango Sub-region and blamed masqueraders.
Many people are getting concerned about the six different teams popularising Gen Muhoozi Kanerugaba with Aber Lillian as a known coordinator of Northern Uganda declared recently by Gen. Muhoozi in Kitgum.
