Man, 39, shot and robbed shs2m in Kibaale

KIBAALE, UGANDA: Police in Kibaale district are investigating a suspected robbery where one Sarapio Kabaterina, 39, was shot and robbed of two million shillings.

Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson said that the incident happened on Sunday at around 9:30 p.m.

Hakiza said that Kabaterina was with his family in the house when he heard someone knocking at their door. On opening the door, the unknown man was armed with a pistol and shot him around the waist.

He revealed that the suspect also made off with an estimated two million Uganda shillings in cash. ‘’The suspected gunmen made away with an estimated two million shillings,’’ Hakiza said.

The victim was taken to an immaculate clinic for first aid and later referred to Mubende Hospital.

He advised the general public to be very careful with who they open the door for since thieves have become so tricky these days.
