28 police officers decorated in Dokolo pipping ceremony

DOKOLO, UGANDA: There was overwhelming joy and real excitement in Dokolo District on Friday as several of the police officers got piped following their recent promotions to higher ranks.

The Regional Police Commander (RPC) for North Kyoga Region, CP Obura Deo officiated at the pipping ceremony that was organized by Dokolo District Police Commander (DPC) for 28 subordinate officers who were promoted recently by the President.

In attendance were all the members of the District Security Committee led by the Dokolo Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Ms Barbara Akech, spouses, members of the community, and the media among others.

CP Obura, the Chief guest of the pipping ceremony congratulated the officers promoted and emphasized aspects of being disciplined, hard work, exemplary, patriotic, and teamwork while executing their mandate.

He called for patience from officers who missed promotion to continue working diligently and they will be considered in the next promotions.

Obura said since there is a circular from strategic leadership calling for more recommendations of officers to be prompted he is quite sure they will get promoted.

The North Kyoga Region police PRO SP Jimmy Patrick Okema who was the master of ceremony congratulated the promoted officers for working hard and encouraged them to continue with the practice.

The RDC Dokolo encouraged the police officers who were promoted to be disciplined enough and portray a good image for the Uganda Police Force as well as the government of Uganda while executing their duties.
