Man, 30, caught red-handed sodomizing two male juveniles

KAMPALA, (UG): The Territorial Police in Kampala are holding a 30-year-old male adult on charges of aggravated defilement and sodomy of two male juveniles aged 11 and 12 in Wakiso district.

The suspect identified as Mutabazi Deo, a resident of Mutundwe Wabiyinja zone, Bunamwaya division in Wakiso District is alleged to have called the two victims to his room a week ago and lubricated their anuses with oil before sodomising them in a very worrying incident.

According to Police Spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga, “the concerned neighbours alerted the parents to the victims who tipped the Defence Secretary of the area and responded immediately to arrest the suspect.”

The suspect was found with two other male juveniles, aged 10 and 13 seated on his bed during the arrest. The two boys were also with lubricated anuses, pending sodomy.

Enanga condemned the acts of the suspect and said he will be arraigned before courts of law on charges of Aggravated Defilement and indecent assault as soon as investigations are done.

“Such incidents of sexual abuse against young boys and teenagers, clearly reveal the dangers they face in the community. We shall ensure all perpetrators of child sexual trafficking, sodomy and other forms of physical abuse targeting young boys and male teenagers are held accountable for their crimes,” Enanga said.

“We also want to thank the neighbours who took interest in the suspicious behaviour of the suspect and alerted the local authorities and police,” he added.

In May this year, President Museveni signed into law the Anti Homosexuality Act 2023 which proposes maximum penalties for offenders found guilty of engaging in same-sex acts.
