Pupil, 13, punches colleague to death for abusing him

Police in Adjumani District have arrested a 13-year-old pupil for punching a classmate to death for allegedly abusing that he is stupid and dense.

Rashid Kawawa, a primary four pupil at Biyaya Primary School in Adjumani town council is said to hit a blow to the victim, a 13-year-old girl Alimo Mazarawo which resulted in her death.

According to North West Nile Region Spokesperson, ASP Dragudu Ignatius, It is alleged that the two were playing football when the boy accidentally knocked the girl. This angered the girl who went on a tirade abusing him and telling him that he is dense and is always ranked the last in class.

Dragudu explains that this prompted Kawawa to hit Alimo with a blow that killed her instantly.

He says the juvenile suspect was arrested by the school authorities and is currently detained at the juvenile cells as he awaits being taken to a juvenile court to be prosecuted for alleged murder.

Dragudu further condemned the act that he said ended the life of a promising child and urged parents to cancel their children to avoid such scenarios in the future.
