Club Ambiance Fire
It should be noted that Club Ambiance, Masaka City’s biggest night club caught fire on May 5th 2023 and property worth millions of shillings was destroyed in the aftermath.
Eyewitnesses who operate near the discotheque were dismayed when they saw the fire start out from the upper corner of the building before it spread to other sections
“We tried to prevent it from spreading but there was little we could do because we were using rudimentary means,” they told media after the fire burnt the hangout.
Some of the attendants at the nightclub said that the fire first concentrated inside the nightclub and destroyed all the sound systems, lights, wall fittings and floor carpets among other properties.
They indicated that they called in the police fire brigade but responded late after damage had already been caused.
It was believed that the fire targeted the building through one of the air conditioning systems.
However, Police have since indicated that an electrical short circuit was the probable cause of the fire that burnt the property which has today all been compensated by SWICO.
SWICO was founded in November 1981 and started operating 1st March 1982. Being one of the first insurance companies in Uganda, its purpose is mainly to create a business relationship in this stressful world.
SWICO currently boasts of more than 21 branches operational today which also include SWICO House based in Masaka City.
